Beachfront pool villas where you swim twice a day
Sand under your feet, salt on the towel, fresh-water pool ten metres away. Four villas that nail the format.
There's a particular pleasure to a beachfront villa with a private pool: salt water for the morning swim, fresh water at lunchtime, and zero shoes between the two. We picked four where the beach is genuinely at the doorstep — not a five-minute walk past a road.
Why both a beach AND a pool
A beach without a pool means salt in your hair for a week and limited dips with toddlers. A pool without a beach means a great villa with no ambient soundtrack and a long drive for sand. The combination is what makes the holiday — particularly for groups with mixed swimmers.
What "beachfront" actually means
The word is abused. Genuine beachfront is no road between villa and sand. We verify this with satellite imagery for every villa on this list. "Sea views" and "5 minutes to the beach" are different things — both fine, but they're not what we mean here.
The four geographies that deliver
Mauritius (Trou aux Biches), Thailand (Kamala, Phuket), the Algarve cliffs (Lagos), and the gulf side of Koh Samui all have stretches where private villas open directly onto sand. Each comes with its own trade-off — Mauritius for calm lagoons, Phuket for sunset surfing, Algarve for European convenience, Samui for jungle backdrops.
