How we use cookies

We use cookies and similar browser storage (such as localStorage) in three categories: essential, analytics and marketing. Essential storage is always on because the site cannot work without it. Analytics and marketing are off by default and only run if you opt in through our consent banner. We do not use third-party advertising or behavioural ad targeting.

The consent banner

When you first visit, an on-site banner asks for your choice. You can accept all categories, reject the non-essential ones, or pick categories individually. Your choice is remembered so you are not asked on every visit. No analytics or marketing storage is set before you give consent.

Essential (always on)

Strictly necessary for the site to function and to remember your choices. These do not track you and cannot be switched off.

• NEXT_LOCALE — remembers your language choice.
• Cookie-consent preference — remembers what you accepted on the banner.
• Functional preferences (currency, theme, wishlist) and a secure session/sign-in token when you log in with Google — needed to keep you signed in and manage your bookings.

Analytics (opt-in)

Anonymous, aggregated metrics that tell us which destinations and pages are useful so we can improve them — Google Analytics 4 (identifiers such as _ga / _gid), Microsoft Clarity (anonymised heatmaps / session replay to diagnose UX issues, cookies such as _clck / _clsk) and Plausible (cookieless). IPs are anonymised/truncated and we do not use this to identify you personally. Only set if you opt in.

Marketing (opt-in)

Reserved for measuring our own campaigns and email links. We do not run third-party ad networks, retargeting or cross-site profiling. If we never set marketing storage for your session, nothing is placed in this category. Only set if you opt in.

Changing or withdrawing consent

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by reopening the consent banner from this page, or by clearing the SplashVillas cookies in your browser settings, which makes the banner appear again on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser's privacy controls, or use a tool such as uBlock Origin — the site continues to work with non-essential cookies disabled.
